“The harvest is plentiful, but laborers are few" Mt9:37

“The harvest is plentiful, but laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Mt 9:37, 38)

What an unhappy situation it is! God of abundance has answered well to the prayer of man and see, there is plenty of harvest. But now God feels sorry that he has only very few laborers to gather them in. The same we find in the beginning of the salvation history, “God feels sorry that he had made mankind on earth” (Gen 6:6). Why? Because, they did not respond fruitfully and faithfully to God. However, God didn’t withdraw from his eternal promise and love to humankind. When it was time, ‘he sent his only son and gave on the cross to redeem the world’ (Jn 3:16). Today if we pray to God, even after Jesus’ coming to the world, to send more laborers to the fields that wouldn’t be a mere ingratitude! Therefore, let us pray to God the father that we are here ready to be sent out, send us to your harvest. We know that the fields are not far away. It is in and around us. You want us to lift up our eyes and see. Many a time we were contented with what we have and are not happy to share with anyone, anything. Lord, help us to review ourselves and prepare us to be your witnesses. Have a nice day to all of you!
