“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying
heavy loads, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28)
It is always very pleasant and meaningful to hear
this word of the Lord especially on Sundays. Lord’s Day is a day of rest and a
day of being with the Lord. On this Sabbath day, our Lord Jesus Christ calls us
to be with him and take some rest. We were working hard for the whole week, day
and night, and now tired and weak. Jesus knows us better than anyone else. Therefore,
he calls us today in a special way to him. The book of revelation says, “He
will wipe away all tears from our eyes” (21:4). Therefore, let us go to the
church today with all our family members to have the real rest Jesus gives and
thank him for the graces we received the last week both physical and spiritual.
It is very enriching also to be with the Christian community, the body of Jesus
Christ himself and share our faith experience. St. Paul reminds us, “Since you
have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him. Keep your roots
deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you
were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving” (Col 2:6,7).
Have a nice
and blissful Sunday to all of you.
