“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads and I will give you rest.” (Mt 11:23)

“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads and I will give you rest.” (Mt 11:23)

Please do come and have some rest! Really a comforting message man can have especially when one is heavily loaded with many difficulties and problems. This call is not, of course, to get rid of all your burdens and difficulties of your life, rather invites you to have a rest for a while and wish you a safe and comfortable journey. In olden times one of the best places a carrier wanted to search for on the wayside was the subvention corners, Athani,  where he could unburden his loads and have some rest. He has to go miles with his load but in between some rest. This refreshes him both physically and mentally a lot and his load naturally becomes a little lighter, he really feels. Jesus says, the yoke I will give you is easy and the load I will put on you is light. He never overburdens anyone rather makes his burden light. He asks each one of us to carry our crosses and follow him. If we walk along with him carrying our crosses we don’t feel much overburdened. We always feel comforted and consoled. How does he make it lighter? It is not by taking away cross from you rather he teaches you the best way of carrying the cross, the right attitude in carrying the cross, the proper meaning of carrying the cross etc. He says, “Learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit.” (Mt 11:29)

Take courage God is with you! Have a nice and blissful day….
