Send us away into the herd of swine Mt 8:28-34

Send us away into the herd of swine Mt 8:28-34

Jesus says, "the devil, from the very beginning, is a murderer and does not stand in the truth" (Jn 8:44). Here, the demon asks Jesus, "If you casts us out, send us into the herd of swine"(Mt 8:31). What does it mean? It just proves that "he is devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world" (Rev 12:9). He knows for sure that he is going to be driven out by Jesus now and he can't no more destroy the man. Therefore, he thinks that if at all he can't do anything to this man he will go to the herd of pigs and kill them. Satan is always like that he is a liar and murder. In the beginning he attracts people with a lot of worldly pleasures, but later only people realize that they are trapped. In the parable of good shepherd Jesus says, "The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" (Jn 10:10). Let ask God for the grace we need today to hear the word of God and believe in God and follow him, the good shepherd. Amen. Wish you all a very nice day.
