Holy
Rosary Month - Day 31: Glorious Mysteries 5
The
coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in heaven: In the fifth glorious mystery we
meditate on the coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in heaven. We are at last reaching our
destination point. Like in the exodus, where God led his people through the
wilderness under the leadership of Moses, we were led by the same God in this
pilgrimage under the leadership of holy Mary. What Moses couldn’t enjoy Mary
could enjoy; she reached the destination and rewarded by God. God has promised,
“To those who win the victory I will give the right to sit beside me on my
throne, just as I have been victorious and now sit by my Father on his throne.”
(Rev 3:21) Let us give thanks and praise to Him who led us all the way of this
pilgrimage. Mother Mary, who was our help and guide in this pilgrimage, is
today crowned by the Holy Trinity. It is of great joy for us today and let us
be proud of our mamma Mary. Now we know for sure that she is the one who can
lead us rightly to God and eternal life. In her we do have our hope of reaching
our destination, Jesus. She has finished her journey successfully, but we have
not yet finished our journey.
With
St. Paul we also admit, “We do not claim that we have already succeeded or have
already become perfect, we keep striving to win the prize.” (Phil 3:12) But,
“let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from the
beginning to the end,” (Heb 12:2) and continue our journey to Jesus. Mother
Mary, our model and guide, is always with us to take us to him. Let us forget
about all those things left behind (our past life and its sinfulness; our
inclinations to worldly life; and our unfaithfulness) and do faithfully our
best to reach what is ahead; our target Jesus and eternal life through the
intercession of Mary. Let the Pauline prayer be our mission and our daily night
prayer, “I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I
have kept the faith. And now there is waiting for me the prize of victory
awarded for a religious life, the prize which the Lord, the righteous judge,
will give me on that Day – and not only to me, but to all those who wait with
love for him to appear.” (2Tim 7, 8)
Prayer:
Oh Mary, queen
of heavens! We come to you today for your special maternal help and protection.
Mary, our mother and guide; help us to follow your model in following Jesus. In
this holy mystery we specially pray for all those who have failed to understand
you and the importance of your mediator-ship before God. Let them be filled
with Holy Spirit and guided by Mary, our mother. O, Mary be with us, always!
Amen!
A word of thanks: As in many other cases, several persons were there in the
beginning of this Marian pilgrimage with great enthusiasm, but after sometime
few were dropped on the way. As the word of God says, “Many are invited, but
few are chosen.” (Mt 22:14) Thank you all for joining and continuing in this
Marian pilgrimage. We thank you Lord for your special care, concern, and love
for each one of us. May our mamma Mary intercede for you and your family in
each moment of your life!
Greetings:
Wish you all a nice and blissful Marian Friday!
